Being in digital media has it’s advantages,I come across these really interesting sites at times. Sample this one which I stumbled on yesterday night.
The basic concept here is that these guys run a story writing competition with the catch that the story has to be 160 characters or less…to be honest i was circumspect about the results but these stories proved me wrong. Sample this stuff from the winner’s stable:
- ‘The baby's fine,' the midwife says, touching her hand. 'Bit of a scare there, but he's a little fighter. Have you decided on a name yet, Mrs Hitler?'
- Hi there, beautiful! Let me introduce myself, I'm Chromosome X. You're Y, did you say? How lovely. D'you fancy getting together sometime?
- Shaky fingers grip the forbidden with desperation. Tearing the wrapper, I insert. Finally, a hit of heaven shoots through my veins. I love you chocolate.
- First came darkness. Then light. Finally sound. An assault on the senses! Ben reached over and switched off the alarm. Monday morning again - oh no!
- 'Aren't you the musical one son' said Dad. 'Don't know where you get it from.' Mum's blush rose as the postman passed the window, whistling tunefully.
